  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    Malacia made a return to competitive action on Tuesday when he started for the Under-21s in their EFL Trophy defeat to Huddersfield. The 25-year-old was making his first appearance in 17 months after undergoing knee surgery following the Nations League final in June 2023.

    Malacia had two major knee operations, forcing a prolonged spell on the sidelines. While new head coach Ruben Amorim will be keen to see how the 25-year-old fits into his system as a wing-back, United won't rush him back.
