WHAT HAPPENED?
It has been two years since series three of the popular Apple TV+ show came to a close. Uncertainty reigned at that stage, with a natural end point seemingly being reached as Lasso returned to his native United States from an eventful spell coaching in England.

Speculation did, however, emerge late in 2024 regarding a potential revival. Title character and lead writer Jason Sudeikis went on to deliver the news that a global fanbase had been waiting for – Ted Lasso will be returning to streaming services around the world.

The show is being taken in a different direction, as Lasso is now coaching in the women’s game, with new characters and storylines ready to be introduced. They will soon be put down on film.

Waddingham, who plays AFC Richmond owner Rebecca Welton, has told as cast and crew prepare to get cameras rolling once more: “We start shooting in July. We thought we’d mourned the loss, and now it’s rising from the dead!”
